Component assembly

When I drew the arm parts, I thought about hydraulic cylinder’s dimensions from an another viewpoint.
There have to be enough space for fitting elements, and pipes…

How will be connected the oil pipe into the cylinder?

There were two way – in my opinion.

  1. I will use a threaded fitting element, like with M5 thread for 5mm PU pipe
  2. I will use a self made element for copper pipe (diameter 4 or 5mm).

I think second is the right. Also the real machine has metal pipes on the cylinders and use flexi pipe just in the turning positions. If I would like to follow the real machine, I have to use this version. Actually I had to plan a fitting element. All part of the cylinder will be made from bronze so the fitting material is also bronze.

And also here an other „problem”: how can I fix the fitting components into the cylinder, and how can I fix the cylinder’s end parts to the tube?

The threaded tube and threaded end cap is a little bit difficult and the thread is not sealed, so I have to solder that, or use sealing element to avoid the leaking. From this viewpoint there will be leaking between the fitting elements and the cylinder, despite the sealing-washer. However the position and angle is depend from the thread. To a strong and acceptance sealing, the screw has to be enough tight…The angle and the position is necessary, so I’m just asking; Is the fitting element in good position? and is it enough strong? No, I thing not…

Naturally there are many “screwed corner items” on the markets, but their dimensions are biggest what I would to see on my cylinders.

If I will solder those parts with Ag, that will be strong and sealed (enough strong for the 30Bar pressure level). the position and the elements’ angle is independent from the soldering, it is just depend from me. The soldered version of the end part is more simple than the threaded, because there is no thread and a sealing element and no sealing element’s slot…
Ahmmm, I never soldered with Ag, so this project will be a lesson for me.
