Dimensions of the mechanical parts.

How do I get the mechanical dimensions?

The mechanical parts dimensions come from the web. Unfortunately I don’t have too much original drawings or dimensions, but have some great pictures and pdfs (like brochures, user manuals, data sheets…). The best and most usable document came from Caterpillar. Because the most important thing was to get real dimensions.
I wrote an e-mail to Caterpillar Headquarters – Peoria, and an other message to the local distributor, Huntraco – Hungary.

CAT headquarter answered and they redirected me to local, hungarian distributor.

Now I working with György, who is a Huntraco employee and he is a very helpful man! He sent me some specifications which isn’t Company Confidential. Those data were usefull, and usable during the planning and drawing.

As I wrote, the another way to gathering data was the web. I downloaded many, many pictures, and data sheets. Thanks for God, on the web there is some awesome site, which is dealing with RC modelling and there are many people, they built fantastic machines. Those people shared many pictures and many working steps, descriptions, and anything what they experienced during model building.
